A bit harsh, aren't you? They're supposedly integrating better search features into the next version of Pages precisely to improve the researching component of writing. So it's not like I'm the only one who thinks that Pages needs more to better compare to Word. As it stands, I'll give Pages a shot if I need to do something fancier than writing for MFA workshops.
Plus, I save a couple of bucks.
Pages isn't Word. It doesn't try to be Word. For those of us who use Pages every day, this is actually a good thing.

Apple has never used extreme edition processors. It's outside the scope of their market (aside from beyond their TDP).
However, that's immaterial to the overall point. You tried to claim that apple skimps on some products, therefore them skimping on LTE because they can makes sense. That's no longer the case, Apple does use mobile quad core processors, so your claim no longer has any basis.
Really? So the fact that they did not have laptops with mainstream mobile quad core CPUs before Sandy Bridge when every other computers manufacturer had them is "immaterial" now? I tried the MM that came with my last computer, and I thought it sucked. Steve Jobs is brilliant, but also stubborn. He didn't want to make a 2 button mouse, so he found a way to make a mouse that didn't actually have 2 buttons, but could work like it did. I have a Logictech that works amazingly. It's comfortable, and I can do everything really fast and easy. I think most people that do/will buy the MM, do so because it's Apple.

As much as I wish it would happen, I doubt Apple has fully internalized that the glossy glass screens were a horrendous design decision. I bet is it'll be two more years until they will be forever phased out, along with the enormous black bezels on the majority of products. But Apple is typically slow in realizing their mistakes, no surprise given their successes.
Point well taken. You're probably right but i'm still hoping that they at least cut down that huge bezel. Also I would hope that they make that SSD standard.

Indeed, there have been reports saying that the return rate of the Thunderbolt is quite high due to this very issue.
I was considering going over to verizon for it but ill just stay on Tmo and get the Samsung galaxy s2

Nice update. Some really nice to have features, but I'm not totally depressed about buying my 2.16ghz MBP 3 months ago (not that I could have waited, really).

If 30 million people like the song "My Hero" by Foo Fighters, 30 million people don't need to upload that same song. I predict the service will scan your library and then say "We've found 750 out of 775 matching tracks" and possibly allow you to upload the tracks that are not on iTunes. So instead of uploading 775 songs, you would only have to upload 25 songs.

I apologize for the big letters. I'm a mac newb and this will be my first mac. I have been waiting for this new macbook to buy and whats funny is that I walked into the Mac Store yesterday, the guy new everything about the product but seemed a little too clueless about the product cycle. He was like.. "uh, could be next February but no one ever knows". I asked how releases are typically handled for macs. He replies "I'm not really sure. It's anyone's guess". So I knew he was trying to avoid talking about it.

That seems impossibly thin. Where are they going to put the hardware? Take the thickness of the glass and backlighting & the back-plate away and there's nothing left on the lower half.

Disappointing, but expected. This actually brings up more questions than answers though:
1) Is this a permanent move to a Fall Release of the iPhone?
I'm starting to think it will be. If you look at the "big picture" it makes sense. The iPod is in decline, so Apple's previous big Fall music event isn't really big anymore. The iPhone could shore that up and bring lots of sales to 4Q and maybe even, reinvigorate iPod sales.
Apple then uses early summer to push new Macs for back to school. Late winter/early Spring remains iPad.

IMHO--A solid upgrade. Same price point but more memory, more video ram, fw 800, dual layer burner.
I'm jealous! I have a the original Macbook Pro. But my laptop was just fine yesterday so I won't be upgrading til the next major upgrade.

I wonder what the point of this connection is...seriously. I don't connect 20 HDD's at a time in RAID 0. The only use I could see for Thunderbolt over USB3 is when I am trying to use the same connection for a few 30" displays in CONJUNCTION with SSD's in RAID 0....
I just can't see anything using this type of bandwidth...not at least until SSD's completely dominate the storage market.

This is a false rumor. Absolutely no way will this happen.
First of all Google failed with their TV.
Second of all, it is much better to have the components separate. You can more easily pass the audio to a home entertainment system for surround sound. With a component built into the TV, you have cables going back in the other direction to the receiver. If audio and video both take the same path there is less change of them getting out of sync.
I thought it was unlikely too,but after reading this thread,with multitudes of people flatly stating it will never happen,I'm leaning much more toward them actually making a television.
The amount of certainty with which you make a prediction is inversely proportional to it's likelihood of being accurate.
