Well I don't turn it or my computer off either ;)
My iMac hasn't been off since I bought it in Sept 2010 and the keyboard is still on its original batteries - with 45% remaining.

Was this purchased brand new, or from the Apple Refurb Store?
And can an iPhone work without any cell phone service or sim (basically iPod with Wi-Fi)?

Easy fix.
99% of times it is WM9. To prevent the plugin from loading go '/Library/Internet Plugins' and trash or move
"Windows Media Plugin". I have created a folder called Disabled, I move it to there, and if I want it I move it back to the plugins directory.

Has it ever been discovered what stonehenge was actually for?
Ask an Archaeoastronomist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archaeoastronomy)... :]
When a group of people begin to grow plants (in order to have food for the group to survive), those people then need a good "calendar app".
Stonehedge is hardly unique in this regard. Similar "calendar apps" have been found around the world, as built by various ancient cultures. For example: in Ohio (U.S.), another "Woodhenge (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/07/100720-woodhenge-stonehenge-ohio-fort-ancient-science/)" is currently being unearthed and examined by archaeologists, which was built by the Hopewell (circa A.D. 1 to 900) culture.

It's not the first. I saw this on the TV show "1000 ways to Die" last week. The rooster stabbed the owner in the neck severing an artery.

Apple rodents were better in those days :( Although I'm pretty certain I've used generic PC mice ever since I first had a Mac with a USB port. I never did fit into the single mouse button mindset.
Even if the ball did need cleaning in the hockey puck, at least you could do so easily. Most of the Mighty Mice I meet won't scroll up any more, and I never could get used to having to lift my left finger off the mouse to right click. My dad got fed up and disassembled his to clean it out properly the other day, but I'm sure it'll stop working again within a few weeks. :(

Its gone sorry didn't know it was a bad thing to say.......
By definition it is not necessarily a bad thing, but unfortunately on blogs and forum threads it is used as a derogative comment.
Some around the web define it as: A fan, short for fanatic and sometimes also called aficionado or supporter, is a person with an intense, occasionally overwhelming liking and enthusiasm for a product. (ME!):))
....or Someone (normally male) who is utterly devoted to a single subject or hobby, often to the point where it is considered an obsession (again, ME!:o)

Do any of you guys use pitchfork.com to read reviews on new and upcoming music?
I find their reviews don't really contrast well with my opinion of the album but I use it to find new CDs I might never hear of otherwise. I've found some amazing albums on there that would have slipped through the cracks of all this contemporary ********* on the radio.

Unless they change the power supply the only thing really to update is either the price or the capacity.
I thought they had fixed the capacitor problem. The first batch (1 year+) was dying, but have they continued to die for newer models?
ive had, the original 512gb die at 14months, a 2Tb die at 8 months, and another "2nd gen" 1Tb die at 14 months.
the only thing they "fixed" was a firmware update that keeps the HDD spun down as much as possible to minimise heat build up and turns the internal useless fan on low almost all the time, the components in my original TM and the new TM are identical apart from the upgrade double antenna WIFI and bigger HDD.
apple will ignore a design fault if they can "patch around it" and potentially fix it if they can be bothered to way down the line

Hello.
Software Update got me a 26MB update correctly labeled Canon Printer Update 2.3 for my ip4500.
Apparently the size of the download varies.
Have Fun,

From the One to One Terms of Service (http://www.apple.com/retail/onetoone/terms.html):
That's interesting. The way I understand it is that I can buy my Mac somewhere else and then go to Apple within 14 days to buy the 1to1. Am I understanding that correctly?

About a week ago I got a new MBP 17". I wanted to upgrade the RAM, but let the sales guy talk me out of it. Well, my last day to return is this saturday. Would I be able to get the "upgrade" price if I took it in or would they try to make me pay full price?
I think I should be able to get the upgrade price as I could still return it and buy a new one with the memory I want.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks.

You can perform conversions from any number system in the same way. Each position has a value based on it's distance from the . separating the whole portion from the fractional portion (decimal point in decimal). The position just to the left of this point is the 0th position, and this goes up as you move left and down as you move right, so:
1076.235
Position 3: 1
Position 2: 0
Position 1: 7
Position 0: 6
Position -1: 2
Position -2: 3
Position -3: 5
Each position's value is the base of the numbering system raised to the power of this position, so:
1*(x^3) + 0*(x^2) + 7*(x^1) + 6*(x^0) + 2*(x^-1) + 3*(x^-2) + 5*(x^-3)
so let's say this is an octal value:
1*(8^3) + 0*(8^2) + 7*(8^1) + 6*(8^0) + 2*(8^-1) + 3*(8^-2) + 5*(8^-3)
1*512 + 0*64 + 7*8 + 6*1 + 2*(1/8) + 3*(1/64) + 5*(1/512)
512 + 0 + 56 + 6 + 1/4 + 3/64 + 5/512
574 + 128/512 + 24/512 + 5/512
574 + 157/512
~574.306641 base 10 equals (approximately) 1076.235 base 8
Chances are the bases you'll deal with are 2,8,10, and 16. Even base 8 has fallen out of favor, but i guess it's worth working with. If you're doing this by hand, and you're moving between 2,8, and 16 there are some "tricks". Every octet is 3 bits, every hexit is 4 bits. Knowing this you can do conversions from either of these bases to base 2 or back again pretty quickly and easily with grouping. Note that between 2,8, and 16 you can exactly represent anything from one of these bases in one of the others. This isn't so with base 10, so we end up making approximations because converting from one of the other bases to base 10 can give us an irrational number, and some decimal numbers with a fractional part cannot be represented in binary at all, so they have to be estimated.
