To the OP: We're on the verge of getting the new generation of SSDs from Intel, Micron, and SandForce over the next few months. Probably best to wait a bit to see how the new ones are (and/or wait for the current-gen ones to drop in price).

No thanks. This has been discussed before; you can post a link to your Youtube video and people can choose to load it that way.

I agree! No thanks!

I didn't know you needed a license to be a fake Canadian Driver. (;

Yes, in fact, there's intensive testing involved before acheiving the honor of being a Fake Canadian Driver, it was quite difficult. But I'm more interested in going out for a beer or two while I'm in San Fran in Jan, Man.

Maybe you can add this 2.7 PowerMac (http://baltimore.craigslist.org/sys/115250396.html) for the ultimate system.

a cool key combo i accadentially discovered not to long ago is the command + ~ this will cycle through the open windows of the current program. so if you have 3 windows in safari open it will only cycle through them and not go to another program.

Actually its the ` not ~, since ~ would require the Shift key :D

Here's a bunch more you can accidently discover too ;)

Hi,

in my app, I am trying to move a subview which I popup. This is am doing using UIPanGestureRecognizer and gesture recognizing functions provided by apple here (http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#samplecode/Touches/Introduction/Intro.html)

So the problem I get is that when I click on the button image and try to move the view, it does not move the view. The functionality works only when I click the button, and then click it and move it. only then does it move the view.

I would like to know what I am doing wrong.

Here is the button code to which I add this functionality

If you have to ask, you don't need it; if you need it, you either wish you had it or already have it.

thermal paste is only applied/re-applied when your logic board and/or heatsink is removed from the computer. This is the last thing that comes out of the macbook, and even then is incredibly hard to muck up. I think your problem lies elsewhere

You don't see it on Dell's website because it isn't there...YET. The article linked above clearly states that phone orders of some models are currently available with web sales to begin soon. It's called reading, folks. Top to bottom, left to right. Group of words makes a sentence. Take Tylenol for any headaches, Midol for any cramps. :D

If the OP thought $999.99 was bad, he should've scrolled down more. Highest price is $2475.00

I am planning to Switch (upgrade) from PC to Mac but I still need to run some PC programs.

The only thing I hear about Virtual PC is that its terrible slow.

I am planning to put 2 Gigas of ram on my new Imac 20".

1 giga dedicated to the Virtual PC.

Does anybody has an experience if by doing this I should see a lot of performace Gain on Virtual PC?

Iam not planning to run games just normal applications (some design an graphics) but I need to run them on PC envieroment to ensure compatibility.

Thanks in advance for advice.

What graphics programs do you need to run on the PC side? Chances are it's something that requires a lot of power - meaning it's probably going to be ridiculously slow.

My guess is that you'll be better off designing in OS X. Then you can test the file (or whatever you need to do) in Virtual PC to ensure compatibility.

A lot of linux ditros work without a graphics card, problem is you might need embedded hardware that is designed to work without a graphics card.

Cheapest way to build a headless pc is to get a cheap ass dell (yes, i know im sorry!!! :( ) with cheap ass integrated graphics, cofigure the machine, and then once its up and running to allocate less memory to the graphics card and more to the OS to increase performance.

superfluous "design" elements make it look needlessly bulky, completely negating the original design's desire to be as minimal and unobtrusive as possible.

I think you have to have OS X server loaded on one mac for the other to beable to network boot off it.
