So those of us that are still using 3gS's (that are on their last leg) should prolly go ahead and get a 4, and then wait for the 6...

Yeah, not the best news for 3GS buyers. That said, I dont think anyone should have buyers remorse with the iP4. The display alone will make the upgrade worth while:) But, (if 3GS isnt on the fritz) waiting till Sept. may not be a bad idea. The A5 is superb.

Aquisition for Mac OS X is also a very stable, very efficient and easy to use P2P program. I use it to preview songs before I actually buy them on iTMS... ;) Good luck!
I ususally find that the 30 sec preview is enough for me to decide if I want it or not except for the songs where the preview is just the first 30 sec of the song where most of it is an intro and not a clip from the middle.

Hello All,
I'm pretty new to the Mac and was wondering how to change my background color to a solid color other than the few that are available by default. In Windows, in the absence of a desktop picture, I can specify pretty much any color to be the background color. All I see are the several swatches of color and no way to get more colors.
Are these background "colors" simply little pictures that are tiled? How do I get a true background color that's not already there? Any help appreciated.Well... you could just go into photoshop.... and use the Paint Bucket tool to make your own color... save a jpeg.. and drag to make it your desktop. What color are you looking for?

If so, try renaming your wireless network. This has fixed this issue a number of times for me recently.
No, it picks up its IP number from the Linksys just fine. And it keeps the wireless connection fine. For example, I can access the Mini from my MacBook Pro with screensharing just fine ... even after the Mini looses its internet connection.

It is a charger from a company rather than an official one, but all the voltage readings and so on are the same on both chargers.

Yeah, Office will stay. They said they are committed for at least 5 more years. Office is probably the only Mac software they develop and actually make a decent profit on.
The MBU is one of the more profitable parts of Microsoft, and they want to keep it for the money, for the leverage on Apple, and to avoid the immediate anti-trust lawsuit they'd face if they refused to support OSX.
There's lots of benefits to keeping the MBU alive and lots of downsides to killing it out of spite.
VPC was never really part of the MBU.

I'd just order on behalf of your kids through the online education store. If there are any issues then you could be honest and explain your situation.
I know people who have used the edu store and have specified training colleges etc. No questions were even asked.

wha? Your post is a touch confusing if you ask me. Just try printing something, see what happens. Because there aren't any drivers, it should just work.
Could you maybe post a screenshot of the print center? I don't think I've ever seen the word "driver" in any Mac OS - ever.

See Apple? Do you see this? Offer the damn iPhone unlocked everywhere, including the US, and people will buy them. I won't buy any newer iPhone unless it's unlocked.
I am sure if Apple was able to, they would do so. They don't benefit from locked phones. If their contract with AT&T prohibits it, they can't.
Unlocked phones are available in Canada and people still opt to buy the subsidized locked units, because they are subsidized. The pressure needs to be on the legislators to bar locking of phones (or at least mandate reasonable terms for unlocking). I just got a revelation, iPhone mini in WWDC, iPhone 5 in september or january.
The iPhone mini will deprecate the 3Gs still on sale, and will stop the stocks from going down because the missed release cycle.
