Well, these people are of the "creative" kind, and I have tried explaining over and over again how they need to handle these things. No luck :-). Also, I just found out that they have only tried playing the files directly from the DVD I burned for them. Obvoiusly this is no good for high-bitrate-files. I've tried to get them to use VLC, but I am not sure they have the technical skills to download another app and play the files from that :-)
BUT; I do think that I've found something out. In Handbrake the "high-profile" preset seems to have issues with PC's... Perhaps I'll just stick to "normal" preset from now on, and avoid the rest...

OP....You need to give Nintendo a call and yell at them...Don't live with just unpluging the thing all the time...maybe the N will give you a free remote/nunchuck.
Will contact them as soon as I have some free time. I'll let you guys know how it goes down.

Just 2 for now....
21.5" iMac (early 2010)
13" Air (late 2010)
I am waiting for the iMac refresh to pick up one for the family room. I'll take the newer more powerful one. ;). Can't wait to get the wife and kid off windows. :D
You wanna set them up with Macs from a young age so that they'll buy them when they're older so Apple will make more money so they'll make even better products for us all to buy :D

Hi
I would like to add an external SATA caddy to my MacPro but cannot find the SATA cabling. Is there easy access to the cables? Shall I just use a Firewire Caddy instead.
thanks
Max
What product are you using for the SATA connections?
I ask, as an eSATA card usually comes with the necessary cables. If you've an older machine with ODD_SATA ports, and are trying to run those externally via a PCI bracket with a pair of eSATA ports (not the best way to go due to limitations), you can get the cables off of eBay (here (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=esata+cable&_sacat=See-All-Categories)) or other locations.

Let us know how sore you are 24-36 hours after the wreck. That's when it usually kicks in.Reading the date/time of the first post, the accident occurred on September 17th and it has been well over a week... So perhaps our good doctor doesn't feel too bad? :p

I'm actually thinking of doing just that, even though I do have the room for a bigger desk. I also have an iMac, and don't need the extra space.
Pictures would be awesome. And Wiggum, that desk does look awesome.

Hi,
I'm pretty terrible at hardware, so I'm just posting here to double check my facts and make sure I don't do anything stupid.
I have a "late 2009" model Mac Mini (the only kind with 2.26GHz), and I wanna upgrade the RAM on it from the 2GB it came with to 8GB (or 4 if that's not possible). According to this link (http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_mini/faq_core/mac-mini-intel-ram-upgrade-instructions.html), it should be able to handle the full 8GB.
That being said, is this what I'm looking for?

Thanks,

It's not a JRPG. But it's much more like what a "real" RPG would be like. You assume the character and play whatever ever role you decide... you don't play as a pre-existing character that never (or rarely) talks... or who has a mind of his/her own. The character is supposed to be you, not just someone else you are controlling.

dear forum,
the problem with this g5 is the "darn" fans. they are revving up and spinning at crazy speeds constantly.
is there anything to fix this? we've sprayed it with air to clean, remounted the ram and the video card, cleaned the connections for the fans, remounted the 2 fans (especially the main offending fan) and looked for software fixes.
also we reset the pmu and smu.
heeeellllp :-)

You're referring to the WordPress.com service I think, if you go to WordPress.org you can download the files that power a WordPress blog, host them on your own server, and customize it extensively. In fact, I'd bet you'd be surprised how many sites use it.
I use WordPress for my website and it looks nothing like a blog. Lots of WordPress blogs look the same because those people have no desire to attempt coding. People who know how to code html, php and css can use the CMS aspects of WP to their advantage and those sites no longer look like a blog. It does get a little complicated explaining plug-ins and widgets to a non-coder when you hand it off to a client. Frankly, every website I've ever done for someone has barely been updated after I hand it off so I don't know what you need to do to make people keep it fresh after you're done. So sad to watch something I worked so hard on just shrivel and die on the vine :(

Who cares what people wear? it doesnt tell you who the person really is so even if his clothes arnt "designer" and "expensive" why does it matter?
The CEO of the products you love so much has worn the same damn thing for 10+ years...

I really appreciate having the ability to control my DVR remotely and also having the ability to watch programming on my Smartphone or iPad2, but its a life saver to be able to watch all the programming Im subscribed to and all of my DVR recordings whenever I want even if Im not home. It seems Uverse is starting to provide these services to their subscribers although DISH Network completed this last year and with huge success. I work for DISH and I was one of the first to get a Sling Ready VIP 922 receiver which allows for this complete TV viewing anywhere theres Wi-Fi or mobile 3G network. Maybe next time Uverse revamps their app, again, theyll be able to provide entertainment to their subscribers everywhere.

That's exactly the problem. ...This is a long-standing problem in the era of computers. Your vita will be read by a machine. You need enough confidence in yourself to believe that it is not necessary to impress a machine with your typography skills. Computer-based CV systems have traditionally used OCR to read CVs. You would do well to read, process, and follow covisio's advice. Your posted sample is not the worst CV that I have seen. It doesn't have multiple colors and embedded graphics, thank God. However, you use multiple typefaces and type sizes. Bad.
The only recommended concession to art is boldface. Otherwise, you should use a single typeface--something totally non-creative like Times or Times New--in a single typesize--say 10 point or 12 point. All to make the job of the OCR easier.

There are about 70 people in line now. The Apple store is taking inventory of what they have. At some point they are going to go through the line and ask people which they want to buy, so they can determine how long supplies will last.
