Actually this works out great for our PR. When he was alive he was a very powerful image to conjure up support for the ongoing wars, a great emotional appeal. Now that he's dead he can be trotted as an example of how we are winning and need to stay the course regardless of facts, reasoning, or actual reasons for getting our military into the Middle East again.

I like my Logitech G5, which ships with two battery packs and a USB recharger, so that I am never stuck with a wireless mouse without batteries. Wish the new Mighty Mouse would do this, it would have the added benefit that it uses Bluetooth and not RF so I could lose the dongle.
I suppose I could use a standard AA battery recharger. I haven't seen one in use since about 10 years ago and they never used to be very good...
The other thing is that the Logitech mouse is a laser mouse, which is the only thing that works on my glossy white desk surface. I like the mighty mouse look and design but it won't work on my desk. (No I don't want a mousepad)

I'd say it's more of a yes and no on AT&T quality.
While their service may be spotty in certain locations, the iPhone doesn't exactly have the most stellar antenna.
My iPhone has dropped calls in locations where my N75 (also on AT&T) has never missed a beat.

Technical issues aside - odds are that Apple would rather sell you a new Mac Pro with Thunderbolt onboard.
That would mean video onboard too. Which would not be completly dumb since the MP also plays the role of the Xserve now, and that some usages don't need a powerful gpu. For those usages that need one (or two), the PCIe slots are there, and the onboard Thunderbolt port(s) could be used as data port(s) only.
The other way, is to release graphics cards including Thunderbolt port(s), and since Apple offers only a couple of them for the MP, it shouldn't be that complicated, especially when future Xeon SB cpus will offer 24/40 PCIe 3.0 lanes per cpu. A 16x PCIe 3.0 slot could accomodate 16x 2.0 lanes for the gpu itself and up to 16x 2.0 lanes for Thunderbolt controllers...

Exactly, it just seems like that's where the new UI is going to go. Mail made the change, now Preview?? A random app like preview gets that same change? Im thinking it might be a sign of things to come..

Nonsense. It means nothing of the sort. Check back in 6 months, 3 months or even 1 month and see a) how many ppl are still using it, and b) how many ppl are buying it once the first blush of excitement is over.

That's more or less what I've done. The issue is this. If you envision a twenty page booklet, it will consist of five pieces of paper. On the front of the first piece of paper, the left panel will be page 20 and the right panel will be page 1. On the back, the left panel will be page 2 and the right panel will be page 19. And so on. It is this non-sequential printing of the pages that I'm struggling with. How do you tell it to print pages 20 and 1 on the first piece of paper, other than having it print page 1, then putting the paper back into the printer and having it print page 20.
(A big reason that I'm trying to get away from the manual solution is that I want to save this as a PDF so I can hand it to a copy shop to print out multiple copies for me. But, unfortunately, you can't print to a PDF page twice. :) Oh, and I've tried using the Layout option in the print dialog, but it reduces that page image dramatically, so 10pt font becomes 6pt font. So that wasn't a good solution...)

I decided to quote myself here. I would like Apple to REALLY do something revolutionary for a change. iPod was nice. A big improvement over what was available at the time, sure, but not revolutionary. And while iPod has been improved over the years, the steps have been quite small. Larger storage, smaller size, less weight, color-screen, refinements... How about REALLY rocking our world for a change? Enough with these evolutionary steps, take a revolutionary step instead! Does anyone know if the home sharing play count bug has been fixed? I'd upgrade if it has but if it hasn't I'll stick with my 4.3.1 jailbreak.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about there was a bug where home sharing to device was not updating song play counts in iTunes like it's suppose to.

I don't think Apple can continuously afford to do that though. Everyone can see that Android is making a stand and a strong one at that. Improving market share more than others still while some are even declining.
Let's be clear... "Android" is an OS from Google that you can find on dozens of phones from many manufacturers.
Apple knows they can't compete with that. And they're not. Marketshare is not a goal. For instance... Android has more marketshare... now what?
It's Mac vs Windows all over again. Windows is crushing Macs 10 to 1. Dell and HP have sales that dwarf the Mac. But is Apple really in trouble with the Mac?
Apple sells phones... and quite a lot of them. 18 million iPhones last quarter... and 16 million in the previous quarter. Any other manufacturer would kill for those numbers.
If iPhone sales drop to ZERO... then we can talk about Apple rethinking their strategy. Until then... Apple will continue to sell hundreds of thousands of phones every day... further positioning themselves away from bankruptcy.

I saw and got my hands on a possible prototype IMac that had a touchable screen and a smug free screen. It also had the earlier uncoded virtual keyboard in the Lion OS. though it was only a prototype but a very realistic one for production. I believe it to be the IMac I and my father both got our hands on earlier this year.:apple:

Waiting for ivy bridge (2012) which will come with USB3 standard unless Apple somehow purposefully downgrades to USB2. Then you won't have to get a Thunderbolt to USB3 hub (if one will ever come out) to use the more standard peripherals. I already have a USB3 external hard drive which works on my Mac at USB2 speeds... :(
USB3 is really going to remain the standard, unfortunately... at least for a few years. There are just too many USB peripherals around.

Apple might think this kind of stuff works on iOS (it doesn't) but keep it well away from my desktop.

I use the Junk Meter widget (http://www.dashboardwidgets.com/showcase/details.php?wid=607) to see mine and just leave it sitting open on Dashboard all the time.Thanks! :) It's great, but I would have preferred a "get info" option, or something like that.

That's completely fine with me. LTE speeds aren't really LTE speeds anyway. Even Verizon which does have the fastest LTE falls short of at least 50% of the actual LTE speeds. It's all false advertising anyway :)

as others have mentioned, i'm a little surprised that only the 17inch model has a 7200rpm drive option. i'm going to check with apple directly to see if i can get a custom 15inch with a 7200 drive. my audio apps don't work well with the anything slower.
having said that, the ram, fw800 and dual layer burner are a nice addition
i was wondering about the 5400/7200 issue as well, especially as ill be doing a lot of audio and graphics work on my 15"...do you really think it'll make that much of a difference save a few seconds?
