Awesome upgrade, glad to see they're hitting up the GPU for once.
But now my iMac is out dated, which obviously means its useless.
Now Apple, please upgrade the Mac Mini Server, with thunderbolt.
oh noes, it's useless. If you're gonna throw away your useless iMac, please ship it to me. I'll pay for shipping. Deal? DEAL!:D

Yet, I'm sad nobody else understood it.
I got it, though I don't know precisely what structure it is!
Thanks. Watch for my YouTube™ unboxing later. :p
In the style of SchneiderMan? :)

At one point, Apple got it certified as UNIX, so OS X is a UNIX platform, not just UNIX-like. Linux is probably fairly close to being able to be UNIX certified as well, but there is a money outlay that nobody wants to spend. To top it off, UNIX certification means zilch to the Linux community, so why would anyone pay to have it certified? I'm not even sure how Apple benefitted from their certification.
LINUX isn't POSIX Compliant and there are several other areas that would require changes to the LINUX Kernel to be UNIX Compliant without paying for the Test Certification.
UNIX is not a Kernel or a Filesystem. UNIX is a single specification. Your quotes to the OP were correct. What we call UNIX today we don't call Unix of old.
We aren't in 1969 at AT&T Bell Labs with Kernigan and Ritchie writing in Assembly, C for a custom Kernel.

That's completely fine with me. LTE speeds aren't really LTE speeds anyway. Even Verizon which does have the fastest LTE falls short of at least 50% of the actual LTE speeds. It's all false advertising anyway :)
I dont know of any wireless phone that could support real 4G speeds. Besides on a mobile device, do I really need more than 20mb down, 5 up? Thats already faster than my cable modem lol.

Having looked at the numbers in more detail it is interesting that compared to the year ago quarter desktop sales are relatively static and pretty much all the growth in mac shipments is in the portable lines. Good to see Apple add 1bn to revenue anyhow.
Due to late intro of the mac Pro. I would bet that desktops will increase in sales for Q1

Apple not releasing a new IPHONE in June would really pull the stock into the garbage. It would be hard to make up that lost revenue for the quarter.
You assume that there would be lost revenue. Or rather lost stock value. A lot of that issue could depend on what is announced for iOS, Mac OS, the whole Final Cut game etc. Not to mention ipad sales for the quarter and if they release any new computers, those sales numbers. The buzz from all that could be enough to carry the stock value.
And who knows they could announced in late june but with a 60ish day to launch. And if the phone was 'magical' enough no one would really take issue with the wait.

I have no idea what happened except Plutonius got lynched and isn't a WW. Are Chrmjenkins and Appleguy 321/123 okay? Are they Specials? I can't tell if I'm on the Detention Level of a Star Destroyer or on the bridge of the Enterprise D.:confused:
Okay, the doofus act has to end. :D
I still don't know why I'm being considered a wolf
Bunnies. You take away the bun, which leaves nies. Therefore, you must be a WW. Understand?
The stories are best read when hi/drunk/tripping. appleguy and chrmjenkins' prominaint stance in the narritivies does not reflect their in game roles. Actually, I wrote up the first narrative then assigned the roles via random.org.
Based on the narrative, I don’t exist. :)

If this patent is anything close to reality, Apple may be prepping something much bigger than an iPod, something closer to a full-featured OS X tablet computer. You'll be running a full-featured version of iTunes, not just the simplified UI of the iPod:
http://images.appleinsider.com/patent-ipod-touch17.gif
but who would want to have a full featured iTunes when you still haven't solved the problem of typing. The most efficient part for me is to type out what you're looking for. I do, however, see the advantage to making playlists more efficiently on the go, giving you the ability to shuffle anything you choose, not just "All Songs" which is a bother. :)

Yeah, "accidentally," sure. The price and the buttons on the app store are clearly labeled. You don't just "accidentally" purchase this. It's only believable if the kid is still an infant and randomly tap on stuff, but 11 year old? Come on. Besides, there's an option to restrict the ability to install apps on the OS.
As many people have mentioned in this thread, once you enter your password to download one app, there is a short window when you are not required to enter it again to download another app.

Phones that are difficult to use are not smart.
No just phones that combine PDA features with a phone are called smartphones. We go by webster not your definition:
Definition of SMARTPHONE
: a cell phone that includes additional software functions (as e-mail or an Internet browser)
First Known Use of SMARTPHONE

Right, so with the bigger screen size, Apple has either:
1) Dropped retina-display.
2) Decided on a new resolution that developers will have to adhere to, given that DVGA (double VGA) has been in use for a year and HVGA was in use for 4 years (3 exclusively).
Yeah, I'm not buying in to either
EDIT: I did not read the OP, I'm a moron. Still, bigger display, same res? Pretty lame... Apple just didn't 'future proof' when they chose DVGA.

I think this BT MM will replace the Apple BT mouse currently available. Apple is already offering the MM with all mac desktops except the mini. And to me i think it's very annoying to be stuck with one button when using a desktop so it only makes sense to get rid of the one button BT mouse.

Registered my Starbucks card finally and got 5 stars. Now that I'm green I get a free tall drink (shown below) with every whole bean purchase. Bought the Breakfast Blend to start making at home. @$9.95 with a savings of $3.45 on the tall drink, it's a great deal. I'll save money making Starbucks at home!
You need a card for that? Everytime I buy a bag I just get the tall coffee for free.

Oh well, I'll get a gold card one of these days.
Wait till you get that platinum card !

They're behind Gateway in number of units shipped. Gateway produces and ships more units than Apple.
Michael, read shawnce's message #61. It's exactly how I wanted to reply to your statement, only better.
About market share, there is an optimal level, I believe. Too low and the issue of third-party applications and peripherals becomes a problem. However, if Apple's marketshare gets too high, there could be some anti-trust problems.
Let's face it: Apple is a monopoly, but with such a small market share, it is a monopoly that we have freely chosen to deal with. We Mac consumers cannot go to the DOJ and claim we have no alternatives (just because your alternatives suck doesn't mean you don't have them.) If Apple were wildly successful and exceeded this threshold market share, their business model may be interfered with by the government.
10% should be far below that threshold.

Here's another way to slice it (literally). Flipped half the image. Left the guidelines on this one as well.

I agree that this is no substitute for measuring the actual phone, but, at least in that photo, they are identical. Certainly not off by 1mm as the original post states.
Are we the only ones who can see that these photos have identical size iPhones in them? Ha
